Four Easy Ways to Recycle your Christmas Tree

All trees must be free of tinsel and flocking, no stands will be accepted.

• Support the Community. Check with local organizations (clubs and non-profit groups) to see if collection services are available.
• Compost at home. Cut the tree into compostable pieces to use in your home compost pile. Contact Newberg Garbage Service for more information on composting at home.
• Recycle in your yard debris cart. Cut into 4-inch diameter, 3 foot long pieces and place in your cart with the brown lid. Take care not to push branches in so far that they will not easily slide out of the cart when it is dumped.
• Take the tree to your local yard debris depot. Call ahead for current charges and hours of operation.

  • SP Mill on Wynooski Rd in Newberg accepts trees 7 days a week during daylight hours at no charge. Wooden tree stands ok, no metal, tinsel or flocking.
